I am in Charleston for the second time in five weeks to attend the 2024 WVU Extension Small Farm Conference where I am making friends and finding more allies to increase food security and local food access in the Eastern Panhandle and around our beloved Mountain State.

Honey Sale!

I noticed this week that Honey sales were up and I suspect why: 1) people drink more tea during the winter and often use honey as a sweetener. 2) Consuming local honey this time of year through the spring can reduce spring seasonal allergies.

Clevelando’s Is Back

As someone who increases access to locally sourced food, not all of which exactly keeps with the Lenten spirit, it’s comforting to me to remember that people still need to eat over the next 40 days, even though it tends to be less, and that Easter will soon be here with all the feasting and decadent food that is appropriate to that most holy season! So put aside the bread and water (at least for Sundays), and enjoy the over 200 farm-fresh foods and local products our little Market has to offer you!

Winter Market Welcome

Happy Friday, St. Isidore Market Family! The Community Markets Inc. team is refreshed coming off break and are EXCITED to bring you our Winter Market! Our vendors didn’t hibernate over the holidays – they were cooking up some wonderful new products to kick off the new year! In a slight change of plans, the Market will be at St. James for the winter with our table simply being in the library just to the left off the piazza. Our white refrigerated trailer will be parked in the same spot, so follow the signs or ask someone standing outside if you need help finding the library. Again – the St. Isidore Market will be at St. James for the winter! Please note that due to inclement weather, the Market may be closed on any given week. Watch your email, our Website, or Facebook for the most up to date information.
